Biostimulators: building your own collagen, gradually.

Biostimulators work differently from filler. Instead of occupying space themselves, they prompt your skin to produce collagen over months, improving thickness, firmness and contour subtly.

Candidacy

What it’s good for

  • Generalized volume loss and thinning skin
  • Crepiness and skin quality on the face, neck, chest or hands
  • Gradual firmness and support rather than immediate contour change
  • Patients who prefer change that no one can point to

How it works

The mechanism, plainly

These products create a controlled biological response that recruits fibroblasts to lay down new collagen in treated tissue.

Because the effect depends on your own healing response, it develops over roughly three to six months, and results vary between individuals.

Treatment is typically planned as a small series, then maintained periodically.

The visit

What to expect in the room

  • The area is assessed and mapped, and the plan is discussed.
  • Product is injected or placed in the appropriate plane; numbing is used for comfort.
  • Treatment usually takes 20 to 45 minutes.
  • Some products require you to massage the area at home for several days.

Recovery

Downtime and aftercare

  • Swelling, tenderness or bruising for several days
  • Temporary firmness or small nodules in some cases
  • Normal activity generally resumes the same day

What this treatment will not do

Biostimulators are a patient approach: there is little to see at first, and the result accumulates. They are not the right choice if you want immediate contour change, and not every candidate is suitable. Individual results vary.

Cosmetic treatments are not covered by insurance. Payment is due at the time of booking, and a cosmetic consultation is $150. Pricing is subject to change, and a consultation may be required before treatment.

This page is general education and is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it does not create a physician–patient relationship. Individual circumstances differ; please discuss your own skin with a qualified clinician. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911.
